Dr. Zhang Renfengfrom theMarxismSchool, Sichuan University,deliveredthe lecture. Dr. DuMin presided over this lecture.
Dr. Zhang Renfengopened the lecture with a question:"what's your impression of China?",thenexpoundedthe current situation of China's development from five aspects:First, the overall situation of China's social undertakings;Second, education in China;Third, the current medical and healthcaresituation;Fourth, China's pensionsystem; And fifth, China's in-depth targeted poverty alleviation. He concluded that targeted poverty alleviationwasa prioritythat must be adhered to in povertyreductionand development,it wasthe essence and highlight of povertyreductionwork of theParty and thecountryin the new era, andwasimportant guarantee for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and realizing the great "Chinese dream" of the Chinese nation. Itwasessentialtomake surethat the rural poorpopulationwouldbe lifted out of poverty by 2020 according to the currentthresholdinChina, and all poverty-stricken counties wouldbe liftedout of poverty, so as to solve thewhole-region povertyissueand achieve the goal ofreducing real poverty and genuinepovertyreduction. At the same time, theissuesof income distribution, housing, prices and the imbalance between urban and rural developmentwere being solved graduallytofinally realize the strategy ofbuildinga healthyand well-developedChina.
The classburst intoawarmround ofapplausewhen the lecture finished, and Chinese andinternationalstudents asked questions one after another.Internationalstudents showeda strong interest in China's all-round development, and Chinese students further enhancedtheir confidence in China'spath chosen,so were theirtheoretical,institutionaland cultural confidence.
