At 9 a.m. on July 7, theInternationalExchangeProgramoftheMarxismSchoolwent tothe Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaryasthe secondfield trip. As a national treasure of China and aiconicanimal of Chengdu, panda has always beenpopularoverseas,therefore, all the international participants hadgreat enthusiasm and expectation for this trip.
Thegroupvisited the adult giant panda, the sub-adult giant panda, the young giant panda areasand theRedPandaReserve respectively, and learned about the habits and morphologicalfeatures of the giant panda at different ages. In the giant panda museum, thegroupgaineda systematic understanding of the evolution history, distribution, wild ecological habits and anatomical characteristics of giant pandas through specimens, pictures, words and other forms. Chinese students in each group introduced thevalueof giant panda as a "living fossil" in scientific research and its characteristics to theinternationalsmembersin thegroup. In addition, the history and storiesof panda as a symbol of diplomatic friendship after the founding oftheP.R.C.in 1949were also introduced.
Through the visittothe Giant Panda Sanctuary, thestudents not onlygained insight ofthe physiological characteristics and living habits of the giant panda and theredpanda, but alsowere impressed bythe effortsofthe Chinese government in cultivating and protecting this endangered species. The protection of endangered and rare animals has been recognized and praised byinternational participants.
