The Branch Co-construction Activity of Party Constitution Leads the Academic Growth of Doctoral Students

On May 6th, 2022, the Party Branch of the Teaching and Research Department of the Ideological and Political Theory Department of graduate students of our college and the Second Party Branch of doctoral students jointly held the branch co-construction activity of " Passing on the Torch in the Reading and Enlightening of the Scriptures: Party Constitution Leads the Academic Growth of Doctoral Students by Teachers and Students who are party members face to face.”

Comrade Li Shuojiu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, Comrade Wang Guomin, Doctoral Supervisor, Comrade Li Bing, Comrade Wang Hongshu and all party-members of the branch attended the event.

 

At the beginning of the activity, Comrade Li Shuojiu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, delivered a speech. He pointed out that the academic growth of doctoral students who are led by the Party Construction are our innovation and exploration of the activity of party branch. This fully embodies the care and concern of the majority of teachers for students, and can help doctoral students and young teachers to get more academic nourishment and growth. He stressed that the activities should be persisted for a long time to build a branch co-construction brand as the characteristics of the College of Marxism.

 

 

In the first stage of this activity, on behalf of the young teachers who are party members shared their experience with everyone in doctoral dissertation selected topic and writing. Comrade Tan Yi, the Distinguished Associate Researcher, hoped that everyone can choose the question of real, new and corresponding the requirements of discipline attributes to effectively reflect the value of academic research. Comrade Ao Xiaomao, a young teacher, shared the matters needing attention when writing a doctoral dissertation, including adjusting the mentality, reasonably arranging time, and strictly implementing the plan. Comrade Tang Hong, a young teacher, suggested that doctoral students in the stage of selected topic should be cautious, in the writing stage should be persistent, and in the revised stage need to be patient. Comrade Yang Ming, a young teacher, thought that in the stage of selected topic, we should pay attention to "carry forward the undertakings of the predecessors to the future", in the stage of writing, we should pay attention to "relaxation and moderation", and strived to successfully complete the writing task at the scheduled time.

 

In the second stage of this activity, the professors who are party members explained the precautions for the doctoral dissertation selected topics and writing. Mr. Li Shuanjiu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, indicated that to write a high-level doctoral dissertation, we should not only pay attention to the academic accumulation and scientific research training in normal times, but also to combine the students’ "passion" and the tutor's "good at". Ms. Wang Guomin, the doctoral supervisor, believed that when doctoral students determined the topic of their graduation thesis, they should first choose the frontier issues of the subject with moderate difficulty for in-depth research, and the second was to pay attention to the problem of disciplines’ attribution. Mr. Wang Hongshu, the doctoral supervisor, pointed out that in the stage of selected topic, students should be determined the module and field of the research problem in time. In the stage of writing, it was necessary to make fully use of the relevant literature, conduct malleable thinking on the existing literature, and put a high degree of emotion and responsibility into the writing process. Mr. Li Bing, the doctoral supervisor, began with the four proverbs of learning to talk about the writing of doctoral dissertation. He emphasized that the rationality of discriminate wisely, the feeling of real emotions, the endless exploration and the realm of mastery and freedom were the requirements of learning, and encouraged everyone to demand themselves according to this standard.

 

This activity of co-construction of the branch gave full play to the organization and service functions of the teacher branch, gave play to the role of the "teach, help and lead" of the development of the discipline, and effectively helped doctoral students achieve rapid growth, so as to achieve the effect of co-construction and co-development of development.
