"Visiting SCU·Knowing China" International Exchange Program successfully held the third lecture on China Studies: Chinese Women's Movement

At 15:00 p.m. on July 8, ourschool (the Marxism School)successfully held the third lecture, one of the lecture seriesonChinaStudies - ChineseWomen'sMovement in theNo.3teaching building of Wangjiang campus of Sichuan University. This lecturer wasChen Meifang, associate professor oftheMarxismSchool.

Associate professorChen Meifangfirstly gavea systematic review oftheChinese women's movementfrom a historical perspective. Sheelaboratedits growthfrom exploration to practice,then onto a path of women'sliberationmovement and development thatconforms toChina's history and reality,which embodies thefeatures of the times and distinctive Chinese characteristics. Through the example of "Tianzu movement", the exploration process of Chinese women's movementwas vividly shownand the understanding of Chinese andinternationalstudentsofChinese women's movementdeepened. Then,the lecturerandthestudents discussedthe challenges faced by women from all over the worldand potential correspondingsolutions, their understanding of the development path of womenin the socialist context withChinese characteristicsenhanced.By strengthening theconfidenceof the path chosen, theoretical confidence, institutional confidence and cultural confidence, the achievements of Chinese women'sliberation and developmentcan be better expressedon the internationalarena.

Through the explanation of Associate Professor Chen Meifang and the active participation of Chinese andinternationalstudents in the discussion, abetterunderstanding of the Chinese women's movementwas formedand the lecture washighly acknowledged.
